What we do
Our aims are two fold
- To work with clients to help them achieve personal fulfilment through better career opportunity planning
- To work with client companies to motivate and retain talent through the provision of high quality career coaching.
How we do it
Firstly, we focus on the whole person - facilitating increased self-awareness and development of self-concept. We explore values, interests and passions, personal strengths, motivators, aptitudes, professional strengths, favourite skills, and what the client needs to be happy and fulfilled. This is done using semi-structured interviews, as well as tools and exercises, including, if desired, psychometric testing.
The second stage looks at occupational ideas and options - facilitating a positive, supportive and encouraging exploration of what interests and attracts the client, encouraging them to take ownership of occupational research - while allowing for a reality check based on preferences and circumstances - and helping the client to create a compelling vision of what the future might look like. We would work together to identify possible desired outcomes, always relating back to the work on values, motivations, etc. done earlier.
Thirdly, we create an action plan, filling the gap between the desired outcome and the current reality. We identify the potential barriers and seek to manage them, encouraging a growth mind-set and supporting the client in creating opportunities.
As a qualified BPS (British Psychological Society) test user, Sheila can administer a wide variety of personality, interest and aptitude tests to enhance the career exploration process.
She also supports the client with their ‘personal branding’ – working with them on CVs, Linkedin presence and networking.
